About The Library

Whitinsville Social Library is the public library for the town of Northbridge, Massachusetts. The library is named for the Whitinsville section of Northbridge where it is located. Whitinsville Social Library serves the residents of the town of Northbridge and its villages.
The library belongs to CWMARS, a large public and academic library network consisting of libraries in central and western Massachusetts. Learn more about the library's history and building.
Mission Statement
The Whitinsville Social Library serves the entire Northbridge community as a welcoming place that enlightens, informs, and entertains. We strive to connect people to a variety of library materials, resources and experiences that support lifelong learning and literacy.

Governance
From its inception, the library has been governed by a corporation, the Whitinsville Social Library Corporation, whose members vote for the Board of Trustees. Membership in the WSL Corporation is open to those who are interested in the welfare of the library. The WSL Corporation accepts monetary gifts which are used in order to continue their support of the library.
