Redevelopment Authority
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Northbridge Redevelopment Authority is to encourage reinvestment by means of development of underutilized areas that will lead to job creation, added housing opportunities, a mix of commercial and industrial uses, an improved tax base and a better quality of life for all residents of Northbridge. The NRDA will function as a catalyst in fostering public/private partnerships.
ABOUT
The Northbridge Redevelopment Authority, like the Northbridge Housing Authority, was established by Town Meeting under State law (M.G.L. Chapter 121B), and is not strictly speaking, a Town Board or Committee. The NRDA is a separate, quasi-municipal entity that works cooperatively with Northbridge Town Government for a specific purpose - Urban Renewal through redevelopment, adaptive reuse, and infill development.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
- Review and develop an implementation plan for the Slum and Blight inventory study;
- Identify, define, and prioritize development target areas;
- Identify development and/or funding opportunities for designated priority locations;
- Promote coordination, cooperation, and communication among the various Northbridge development boards, and departments;
Residents are encouraged to submit any written ideas, comments, hopes and concerns via email or letter to: Northbridge Redevelopment Authority, Town Hall, 7 Main Street, Whitinsville, MA 01588, nrda@northbridgemass.org.
