Disability Commission

Welcome to the Northbridge Disability Commission Webpage.

The Disability Commission typically meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30PM, in Town Hall.

The Town of Northbridge Disability Commission promotes and supports community engagement and equal opportunity for people with disabilities, by increasing public awareness and ensuring equal access to community facilities, services, and programs.

The Disability Commission provides education, guidance, technical assistance and support to the Town of Northbridge, regarding all matters pertaining to disabilities.

The Disability Commission consists of five members, appointed by the Board of Selectmen, and serves as a resource to the Town and its citizens.  Activities may include:

  • Advising and assisting town officials and employees in ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations that affect people with disabilities
  • Coordinating programs designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities
  • Reviewing and recommending policies, procedures, services, activities and facilities of departments and boards of the Town as they affect people with disabilities
  • Assisting individuals, public agencies, businesses and organizations in all matters pertaining to disabilities
