Volunteer

Thank you for your interest but the Library is currently at capacity for both adult and teen volunteers.

Please consider joining the Friends of the Whitinsville Social Library to advocate and fundraise on behalf of the library. They always need more help!

Some activities volunteers may do:

  • Shelf read. Any time of day during business hours. This task requires good eye sight, the ability to crouch and an understanding of the Dewey Decimal Classification system.
  • Help with childrens programming on Northbridge Public Schools' early release days and during the summer.
  • Start a weekly resume workshop.
  • Start a weekly drop-in tech tutoring program.
  • Start up an English Language Learning program.
  • Scan, upload and increase accessibility to library's historical collection on library's online repository
  • Perform yard work and gardening during the spring, summer, and fall months.
  • Share their skills or hobbies with the library community in a presentation, workshop, club, etc like a weekly fiber arts night or monthly writer's club.

If you are 18+ and would like to volunteer at the library, download an application and return it in person or via email to Rebecca, Library Director, at rsasseville@cwmars.org. WSL participates in the Northbridge's Senior and Veterans Tax Work-Off Programs.

If you are between the ages of 13-17, please download an application, fill it out, and return it in person or via email to Miss Heather, Youth Services Librarian, at hwade@cwmars.org.

Due to town policy we cannot accept volunteers for court ordered community service.

All interested volunteers 17 years of age and older must submit to a CORI check.
