SOLID WASTE & RECYCLING

SOLID WASTE & RECYCLING

The Board of Health is responsible for regulating the collection, transportation and disposal of garbage, offal and other offensive substances within the community. To that end, the Board has adopted regulations governing the licensing of trash haulers within the community. Included in these regulations is the requirement that recycling services be offered to our residents.

Northbridge does not have town-wide pick up of its solid wastes. Residents must privately contract with a licensed hauler for their trash removal services.

For cans less than half full - let dry or mix with kitty litter or saw dust. For FULL cans you can purchase "paint hardener" - it is available in the Board of Health office at Town Hall or a the Recycling Center - cost is just $2 for one bag which will harden paint (one gallon) to a rubber ball type consistency - then you can just throw it away!
