COMPOST SITE

2008
COMPOST SITE HOURS OF OPERATION

March 29th through December 6th**

Saturdays 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Wednesdays 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM*

*Closed Wednesdays during the months of July and August

**Final days of operation in Winter 2008 are subject to change based on weather conditions.
Hours will be posted on Cable Channel 12 and on the Board of Health web site at www.northbridgemass.org/boh.htm or you may contact
the Board of Health office at (508) 234-3272 for more details.


Stickers for access to the compost site
are now available in the Board of Health office.

Access to the compost site located at 644 Providence Road, for
the deposit of leaves, grass clippings, and small brush, will be limited to vehicles with Compost Site Stickers adhered to their windshields.

WARNING NOTICE

Please be reminded that use of this site for the deposit of leaves and grass clippings is a PRIVILEGE offered to the residents of Northbridge.

DO NOT LEAVE PLASTIC TRASH BAGS, TELEVISIONS, FURNITURE OR OTHER TRASH AND DEBRIS AT THIS SITE.

FAILURE TO ABIDE BY THIS NOTICE MAY RESULT IN THE ISSUANCE OF TICKETS TO THE OFFENDING PARTY(S) IN THE AMOUNT OF $100 PER VIOLATION OR CLOSURE OF THE SITE.

RABIES CLINIC

The Northbridge Board of Health in cooperation with Dr. Lawrence of the Agape Animal Hospital has scheduled its annual rabies vaccination clinic for Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the Whitinsville Fire Station.

Cats should be brought in a carrier between the hours of NOON - 1:00 PM.

Dogs should be brought on a leash between the hours of 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

Please bring prior rabies vaccination certificates. The cost for this clinic is $12 - Cash Only.

MERCURY THERMOMETER EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Bring your mercury thermometers to the Board of Health office and receive a new digital thermometer as a replacement. Wastes containing mercury are considered hazardous and cannot be disposed of in the trash.
 
WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) on Wheels
WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) on Wheels provides nutrition education, help with breastfeeding questions, and provides assistance in obtaining healthy foods and infant formula. If you are a pregnant or postpartum woman, or have a child under the age of five, please call to make an appointment or stop by the WIC on Wheels van (see schedule below). WIC on Wheels also has a nurse practitioner that can provide free health care for any member of the family. For more information or to make an appointment call: 508-641-4829
