Flu Information

Note Date Change!

The VNA of Greater Milford-Northbridge Area, a Department of Milford Regional Medical Center, in cooperation with the Board of Health is sponsoring the following flu immunization clinics for the residents of Northbridge.

SENIOR CENTER PARKING WILL BE LIMITED TO HANDICAPPED ONLY – SHUTTLE SERVICE AVAILABLE FOR ALL OTHERS

Parking in the Senior Center parking lot will be restricted to people with handicapped plates and placards. All others are asked to park at the Wal-Mart parking lot in the corner near Burger King and Route 122. The Senior Center Bus will shuttle people from the parking lot to the Senior Center between 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM.

For your own safety and the safety of others, the Northbridge Council on Aging would appreciate your cooperation with this change of parking for the Flu Clinics.

Tuesday - November 14, 2006 - 1:30-3:00 PM at the Northbridge Senior Center (A-L)

Wednesday - November 15, 2006 - 1:30-3:00 PM at the Northbridge Senior Center (M-Z)

Flu vaccination is strongly recommended for:

· Persons 50 years of age or older

· All children 6-59 months

· All women who will be pregnant during the flu season

· Persons 6 months - 18 years of age who are receiving long-term aspirin therapy

· Persons 6 months of age or older who:

Have chronic cardiovascular or pulmonary conditions, including asthma.

Have required regular medical follow-up or hospitalization during the preceding year due to chronic metabolic diseases (including diabetes), renal dysfunction, blood conditions, immunodeficiency, or HIV.

Have any condition (e.g., cognitive dysfunction, spinal cord injuries, seizure disorders, or other neuromuscular disorders) that can compromise respiratory function or handling of respiratory secretions or that can increase the risk of choking.

These clinics are for town residents only. Please be sure to have your Medicare and other insurance cards with you.
