Stormwater Management

What is Stormwater?

Stormwater is the flow of water that results from precipitation, which occurs immediately following rainfall or as a result of snowmelt.  Some precipitation infiltrates directly into the soil surface, some is taken up by plants, and some is evaporated into the atmosphere. Stormwater is the rest of the precipitation that runs off land and impervious areas, such as driveways and rooftops.

Text of the Stormwater Management Bylaw & Regulation are also available at the Office of the Town Clerk (Town Hall –7 Main Street) and the Northbridge Planning Office (14 Hill Street).

The Town of Northbridge recently adopted (May 2008) local Stormwater Management Bylaw provisions.  The Planning Board is currently drafting Stormwater Regulations.  Please click links below.
